University General Education (UGE) Requirement

The University General Education program is intended to help you widen your perspectives and explore the relationships among various subjects. UGE coursework stresses critical thinking, communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and the acquisition of a broad range of knowledge.

Each baccalaureate degree program requires that you complete at least 18 hours of approved University General Education. Six of these hours must be at the 300 level or above.

If you transfer credit from accredited institutions, you are required to complete UGE according to the scale below:

If you completed college coursework prior to fall 1997, you are exempt from UGE requirements.
